The premiere of Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse Part 1 is getting closer. The long-awaited sequel to the animated film from Sony Pictures that revolutionized the industry arrives this year, with new adventures for Miles Morales and different versions of the arachnid hero, redoubling the bet of its successful predecessor.
The 2018 film introduced Miles, a young man who acquires superpowers after being bitten by a spider and who, since then, has led a double life in which he combines his routine as a teenager in high school with patrolling the city and chasing villains. Luckily, to learn the perks of the trade, he will have a great teacher: Peter Parker himself. Together they will have to team up with Spider-Man from different universes to stop a danger threatening to end reality as we know it.
In this new installment, our main hero will once again join a group of arachnids from the multiverse to defeat a new enemy that will be much more dangerous and powerful than the previous one, putting various realities at risk, from which some of the characters that we will get to know.
Spider-Man’s Future
In addition to the return of Miles Morales for the two parts of Across the Spider-Verse, Tom Holland will also return in the fourth installment of his adventures as Peter Parker for the MCU after the events of No Way Home. In addition, the character will play a central role in the franchise’s future, with Peter leading the new and young generation of Avengers, including Kate Bishop, Kamala Khan, Cassie Lang, and Riri Williams, aka Ironheart, among others.
Sony Pictures also continues to build its universe of characters related to the spider hero. This year it will release Kraven the Hunter with Aaron Taylor-Johnson. In contrast, in the coming years, Dakota Johnson will arrive as Madame Web, Bad Bunny as El Muerto, the return of Tom Hardy as Venom, and will we see more of Jared Leto as Morbius?
The expansion of the franchise will also reach the small screen, where we will see a series of characters such as Silk and Spider-Woman, among others.
