Paramount and Skydance‘s Mission: Impossible – Dead Reckoning Part One is looking to be another monumental hit for the over-the-top action franchise after earning $7M in preview screenings. The seventh installment of Tom Cruise and Christopher McQuarrie’s blockbuster opened in 3,300 markets, with reach expanding to 4,000+ on Wednesday, including IMAX and PLF screenings. Mission: Impossible – Dead Reckoning Part One boasts an impressive 94% on Rotten Tomatoes, with Cruise and McQuarrie hyping the film in places like Toronto, Atlanta, Miami, and Washington D.C. The duo surprised fans by attending the fan screening on Tuesday in Miami, Florida. The stunned crowd was all smiles while posing for a photo-op with Cruise and McQuarrie.
Paramount expects a strong performance for Mission: Impossible – Dead Reckoning Part One thanks to the five-day start. Additionally, reactions to the film have been overwhelmingly positive, with fans calling the film “dynamite,”“timely,” and offering a “variety of unforgetable action.” Some fans say the action sequences are so intense they’ll make you want to see the movie again in theaters immediately.

Mission: Impossible – Dead Reckoning Part One will hit theaters today, July 12th. Mission: Impossible – Dead Reckoning Part Two will be released on June 28, 2024. It’s been expected that these movies will serve as a farewell to Ethan Hunt, but Tom Cruise recently said he’d like to play the character until he’s Harrison Ford’s age.
