BIGBANG’s Daesung has been one of the favorite members of the band since their debut in 2006. The beloved idol has always been in the gaze of numerous South Korean shows because of his prominent career and presence. This time around was no exception as Daesung was confirmed to be a judge in a competition program.
On October 6, MBN revealed the greatest news that Daesung is set to become one of the judges on its upcoming trop competition show, “Living Legend.” The competition is about a survival music variety program that will select the top 3 currently active female trot singles who are going to represent South Korea at the 2023 Korea-Japan Trot Legend Championship.
Since the announcement of “Living Legend” the show has become popular because it was created by the same team behind South Korean hit shows like “Miss Trot,” “Mr. Trot,” and “Burning Trotman.”
The fans highlighted that Daesung was the perfect choice because of his versatility as a solo artist, notably his trot songs like “Look at Me, Gwisoon” and “It’s a Big Hit,” gained immense affection and he is the one to judge trot songs.
“Living Legend” marks Daesung’s first appearance in a variety show in 12 years, the idol himself expressed his anticipation with a short statement:
“I’m looking forward to this opportunity to gain valuable experience alongside exceptional mentors and senior artists. I also have big concerns about how I can contribute and provide assistance. I’ll approach this with the goal to offer my help as best as I can to as many people as possible.”
Undeniably, Daesung was the perfect cast choice for “Living Legend” and everyone is ready to watch him once again on a variety show formally after years of waiting. “Living Legend” is set to premiere in the second half of 2023.
