Barbenheimer comedy coming from Full Moon

Full Moon is in pre-production on the wild comedy Barbenheimer, about fed-up dolls who build an atomic bomb

We’ve all probably seen the portmanteau Barbenheimer a thousand times this summer, as movie-goers headed out for double features of Barbie and Oppenheimer. Two movies that couldn’t be more different from each other, but happened to have the same theatrical release date. There have also been all sorts of poster and imagery mash-ups – and now we can share the news that the mad geniuses at Full Moon Features are taking the Barbenheimer insanity a step further. They’re already in pre-production on a wild comedy titled Barbenheimer! Along with this announcement comes the unveiling of promotional teaser art, and we have the EXCLUSIVE first look at that artwork at the bottom of this article.

We don’t have information on who’s writing or directing Barbenheimer, but we do have a synopsis: Deep within Dollsville, a group of fed-up female dolls – led by the brilliant Dr. Barbenheimer – build an atomic bomb. Their mission? To bring down the patriarchy once and for all! But as the battle of the sexes swells, will Barbenheimer and her bevy of beauties end up blowing up more than they bargained for?

Comedy, drama, action and Armageddon erupt in Full Moon’s latest freaked out fantasy film, BARBENHEIMER!

Full Moon founder Charles Band is producing. Barbenheimer is set to begin filming next month and is aiming for a Christmas 2023 release on Amazon’s Prime Video and Full Moon’s own streaming service, FullMoonFeatures.com.

As we’ve noted before, 2023 is turning out to be a very exciting year for the legendary production and distribution company Full Moon, which has been around since 1989 and has brought us films like the Puppet Master  franchise, Demonic ToysCastle FreakTrancers sequels, and many more over the decades. Earlier this year, after a twenty year wait, they were able to make Subspecies V: Blood Rise and send it out into the world. Another new release is Demonic Toys: Jack Attack. Their stop-motion epic The Primevals has finally been completed and recently had its premiere at the Fantasia International Film Festival. They’re working on AIMEE: The Visitor, which features “the very first AI-created femme fatale in film history”, and the horror comedy Bad CGI Gator – and now we have Barbenheimer to look forward to as well.
